Crystal Clear or Codswallop
You need to feel a connection with me, so that I can help and heal you.
Therefore, I thought I’d let you know a bit more about me and my inner thoughts.
I thought I’d talk about how I associate with crystals and it’s probably not what you might think.
Stay with me on this one, because first I’ll give a brief history and run down on the use of crystals.
Crystals have been used for thousands of years in various cultures for their purported healing and spiritual properties. Ancient civilisations, including the Egyptians, Greeks, and Chinese, believed that crystals had mystical powers.
The belief in the power of crystals stems from the idea that they can influence energy fields. Each crystal is thought to have unique vibrations and healing properties that can align and balance the energy of the body, mind, and spirit. It’s a massive industry with crystal sellers, workshops and soooo many books and crystal bibles.
How do I relate to crystals?
From a scientific standpoint, there is limited evidence to support the metaphysical claims about crystals. The efficacy of crystals is often attributed to the placebo effect—where individuals experience real improvements in their condition simply because they believe they will. This is how I think about them about 85% of the time.
But it’s odd, because I love to collect them. I have a lot! I talk to them, I put them out in the full moon to charge, I buy them as gifts for those who need healing and don’t want them to feel upset if I use one more than the other. I know how to use them and in my early twenties I was into them in a big way for a while.
I think baby me was holding out for some huge, palpable universal shift by starting a collection – that’s most likely why I became a bit more disassociated with them than most mediums and healers.
With a more ‘mature’ mind I have my lucky red one that I’ve carried with me since someone on one of my mediumship courses told me that I needed to get a red jasper. This happened a few days after I saw a spirally one and had to buy it. It looks like a flame. I was actually fiddling with it in my pocket as she was talking.
When I’m drawn a stone to the point of needing to purchase, and then look up the meaning, I’m always astounded that they’re for the exact thing that I need to work on in that moment in time – the universe, coincidence, or could I slot myself into any stone descriptor? It’s definitely not the latter.
Don’t ask me
I just can never remember the name or what they’re for after I’ve bought it. I dread people asking me what their crystals are. I can’t retain that information. I can reel off the usual suspects like, the amber Citrine for prosperity and the pink Rose Quartz for love – but not much beyond that.
Lucky pants
I don’t feel like they’re buzzing with some kind of healing energy, but I use them just in case, as a booster. Is it me doing the work, them, or both? Is it because I’ve got a crystal in my bra for confidence that I’m strutting around smashing it? I’m still going to charge my crystal grid and have my psychic connection boosters around just in case. I guess it’s the equivalent of lucky pants. And you’ve got to be in it to win it. At the end of the day, I’m also not going to claim to be more crystal knowing than the Egyptians, Greeks, tribal communities and billions of crystal users throughout history.
So there is some science?
The structured lattice composition of crystals does create stable vibrational frequencies, which some argue could have an impact on the energy fields around them. I find that interesting, that makes sense – that I can work with!
Although that is enough scientific explanation for me, they say that definitive scientific proof is lacking. Many individuals report benefits from using crystals, such as increased mindfulness and emotional well-being. The use of crystals can also serve as a tool for meditation and focus, contributing to the overall sense of spiritual connection and personal empowerment. I reckon this is me too – it’s a visual, tangible spiritual tool and so I feel in the spiritual zone and empowered.
Crystals, no crystals, placebo, focus, empowerment or direct benefits. If it works in a way that’s for you then that’s all that matters. I just trust that mine are rolling their inner eyes at me and getting on with the job regardless.
