Our Lives are Woven

Header banner with the head of a female on a dark back ground and light blue light surrounding. Looking up and straight ahead but we have a side on view of the right hand side of her face and neck. The title reads "our lines are woven". So with that- let's find out, what is a soul contract?

Just as strands of hair intertwine, our lives are woven with agreed connections.
Do you know about soul contracts?

What is a soul contract?

In a nutshell it’s where we make agreements on what role we’ll play in each other’s lives before diving into life on Earth. They’re the secret blueprints that shape our experiences, relationships, and even the tough lessons we face.

Think of them as the pre-planned adventures that guide our souls toward growth and wisdom. Whether it’s the unexplainable bond with a friend or the challenging dynamics or issues with a family member, these contracts stipulate, “there’s a reason for everything.” Embracing them adds a layer of understanding and purpose to our journey through life.

What to Do About People Who Have Hurt You?

Old lady sat at a desk with a piece of paper in front of her and a cup of coffee to her left. She's wearing a white tshirt and big round spectacles. She has an enlightened look on her face, gold hoop earings and crazy red hair. The background is dark purple with a whizz of gold glitter. The text says "me not complaining because spirit told me it's all been arranged in my soul contract".

Life is filled with experiences that challenge us, including encounters with people who may have hurt us deeply. While these moments are painful, they often carry valuable lessons for our personal and spiritual growth.

Healing can be aided by Shadow work and inner child work.. There are some great exercises on YouTube out there, but shadow work is pretty heavy going. Just again, be careful, and seek out professionals or your network for help.

What are your thoughts about soul contracts?

Is it a comfort? Is it frustrating?

Do you keep getting the same lesson to learn?

Does the principle just create more questions?

Understanding Karmic Contracts: My thoughts

Yes, when I learnt about soul contracts there was a huge wash of relief and comfort that rolled over me and settled to stay. All the horrible situations and people I’ve had dealings with all had a purpose for my benefit and because of that I’ve achieved spiritual growth each time.

I’ve realised something in myself in that I don’t have strong enough or enough boundaries. I protect people too much rather than leaving them to face their own consequence. Furthermore, I fight to make right things that should be accepted and let go. I hate failure and anything that can be considered as my own incompetence, so that makes me work harder on things, jobs, tasks and people that should just be sacked off for my own sanity. And for the same reason, I would hide faults and abuses.

So I've realised and learnt - all is good now right?

However, realising all of this does not necessarily mean that you learn and change behaviour. UNTIL, you learn that it’s OK, to have boundaries and rules and to stick to them, because that was your lesson.

Should you forgive nasty people just because they were doing their job? I personally, then found it easier and more peaceful in my being to be more amicable when I saw these people around. I don t mean pally, but the energy it takes to avoid, ignore, and bad mouth is immersive and ends with a negative cloud that you can’t shake. And at the end of the day they remain unaffected and have no clue and probably no care about the angst going on in that moment.

A bit like road rage, all of your swearing and chuntering only affects the people in your car.

Not the road hog that just decided to cut you up. They’re merrily journeying along living their best life. They might think, oops sorry, for a second but that’s it.

It's how you want to deal with it

There is a danger that you can be too forgiving to wrong doers and even feel sorry for them having this role in the soul agreement. I’m an overthinker and I need to formulate answers to all my why’s, why did they do that? is it me? But now, all I need to ask is, what’s my lesson there? It’s the same thing but with more positivity about the situation.

The most emotional realisation for me was when a teacher told me that everything I’d been through meant that I can relate to every client. Whatever walks through the door, I’ll have no judgement and will be able to understand their needs.

I cried for about an hour on the way home after that. All of those life lessons were for a reason and that reason is to help people.

Apparently me being an Aries also helps as it makes me open minded and unshockable, but astrology brings in a whole other dimension to this subject, so I think I’ll leave it there.
